News Corp Achieves Leadership Scores with CDP
We are proud to announce that we have been recognized for our leadership in corporate environmental transparency and performance by global non-profit CDP, securing an “A-” ranking in the climate change category for 2023. Last year, we were delighted to be recognized by CDP as a Supplier Engagement Leader (“A” ranking) for our efforts to measure and reduce climate risk within our supply chain (please see below).

News Corp’s commitment to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 has been reviewed and validated against the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) Net-Zero Standard, becoming the first North America based media company to do so. Our overall, near-term, and long-term targets are:
Overall Net-Zero Target
News Corp commits to reach net-zero GHG emissions across the value chain by FY2050.
Near-Term Targets
News Corp commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 65% by FY2030 from a FY2016 base year. News Corp also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 25% by FY2030 from a FY2021 base year.
Long-Term Targets
News Corp commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 95% by FY2050 from a FY2016 base year. News Corp also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 90% by FY2050 from a FY2021 base year.
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global body enabling businesses to set ambitious emissions reductions targets in line with the latest climate science. It is focused on accelerating companies across the world to halve emissions before 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions before 2050. The initiative is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and one of the We Mean Business Coalition commitments.
